Just over 2 weeks away, but not quite soon enough for our one-night-in-hong-kong to be showing on wotif.com. Nearly. Cut price electronics, I hear you calling.. beee... beee..you neeed us... 

You gotta be innoculated

Well last week we got some shots. I had 4, plus a polio vaccine and I think I have, er, about another seven to go, spread over 2 more visits. Biz the hard man only needed a couple of boosters. The mild annoyance of having a dead arm for the rest of the day was easier to deal with than the side effect of desperately wanting to cry out:

"Ow! My arm is really sore, wanna know why? Its because I got shots to stop me from getting tropical diseases in South America, where I will be for 6 moths after I FINISH WORK".

My god the restraint was herculean. Did you know by the way that rabies shots cost $100 each and that you need 3 of them before you can live without gut-twisting fear of stray dogs in villages? Ouch. Cashectomy number one on the train to America Latina.

Notes on the medium

I'm told it was Marshall McLuhan who said "the medium is the message." Well this can be especially true of the sprawling ghetto of what we now term the "blog". A use of the internet that is probably responsible for destroying trust in relationships faster than itemised credit card bills. It also allows many serious young insects and aspiring writers to feel gently superior in their damming critique of modern society by being published at the click of a buttton, while remaining isolated from it. Its Satan's tool really. But I love it and if you get one teensy smirk out of the occasional idle read then I'm a happy little blogger. So, as a kind of disclaimer:

• I use a lot of adjectives, tend to over-exaggerate; focus on the minutae, am a lousy typist and impatient with spellcheckers. Get used to it.
• This is actually Bizarro's website. Biz, by nature and experience, is political and provoking. His occasional steaming rants are a joy to behold. You may find it odd, like reading a diary at first. I don´t mind.
